Un but controverse… Il y en a eu beaucoup en Angleterre depuis le debut de la saison. (comme le ballon de plage a Sunderland). Celui de John Terry permet a Chelsea de releguer les Diables Rouges a cinq points. Arsenal est l’autre gagnant de la journee et s’intercale entre les deux.

    Felicitations aux fans des Blues mais pas trop soté, couman bannes fans Pool, et dire ki zot finne gagne zot match de reference. Tous les observateurs reconnet ki les Diables Rouges fine victime hier des aléas de l’arbitrage. SAF ine trop tire lors bannes larbit ces derniers temps capav acoz sa mem larbit du match d’hier ine prend ene ti ‘revenge’ au nom de so bannes collègues critiqués par SAF.

    Arbitrage hier faire moi pense lepok José ti a la tete des Blues et quand larbit et Chelsea ti enan mem sponsor lor zot maillots : Fly Emirates. Larbit ti p mari favorise les Blues sa lepok la.     Sinon pou revine au match d’hier nou fine trouve ene performance de Utd digne de so rang de Champion malgré ene charnière centrale remanié avec l’absence conjugué de Vidic et Rio. Drogba et Anelka ki ene paire ki p seme la terreur en PL ,ti sous l’éteignoire du jeune Evans et du revenant Brown.

    Chelsea ,malgré so full squad, pas impressionant et mo predire ki zot pou souffert quand zot bannes joueurs Africains pou al jouer la CAN en Janvier. Grant ti deza gagne sa problem la quand li ti a la tete des Blues.

    1. man for man manu were superior to chelsea
    2. manu dominated the match but were the victims of bad refereeing

    4. Rooney was simply outstanding, fletcher amazing and addo industrious
    5. The goal should have been disallowed as there should never have been a free kick and as drogba was interfering with play there should have been an offside
    6. Obertan and Owen should have came on by 60 minutes as their substitution came too late
    7.Giggs was quite goal shy and Valencia did not show his class
    8. Once park and hargreaves are back, it’ll be a very different story
    9. If manu had played like this against liverpool, rafa would have been in spain by now coaching some 3rd division team
    10. Chelsea’e players will be fot the CAN in january and manu will buy david silva so te league is ours!!!!

    Je comprend pas quand ces fans viennent dire que ManUtd aurait merité de gagner ce match la!! Ce fut un match tres serré avec 2 équipes jouant le coup tactique!! ManUtd aura beau dominé l’entrejeu, ce qui est normal avec les 5 milieus qu’Alex a aligné, ils n’ont été jamais inquiétants durant le match.. 2 tirs cadrés et d tirs lointains!! Comment peut-on dire qu’on mérite pas de perdre quand on cadre que 2 tirs dans un match!!! Cech n’a que tres rarement été sollicité!
    On aura beau parlé de but controversé, de penalty pas sifflé, mais tout cela fait partie du jeu!! Un bon fan ne peut se plaindre que l’arbitre ne soit pas de son coté, a moins qu’il y ait au moins 3 buts refusés, 3 joueurs exclus, etc!! Quand c’est en notre faveur, il n’y a rien a en redire mais quand c’est contre nous, c’est des:
    “l’arbitre volere!!”
    “pas ti merite perdi match la”

    Neanmoins, Chelsea non plus ne pourrait se flatter d’avoir fait un bon match.. Mais quoi qu’il en soit, l’important ce sont les 3 points et Chelsea a su profiter de l’occasion pour prendre un peu le large!

    THE SUMMING UP OF SUNDAYS GAME:-

    Chelsea’s Didier Drogba is a man who has a beautiful ability to make headlines, be it good or bad. This weekend, he was the victim of a shocking tackle, no, make that assault from Manchester United’s Johnny Evans. He then had the last laugh, darting across Edwin Van Der Sar in an offside position for John Terry’s late goal. Midway through the second half, a ball was lofted into the Manchester United box, it bounced between Evans and Drogba and as both men leapt to fight the cause for their team, Evans inexplicably jumped with his left boot raised and plunged his studs into Drogba’s shoulder.

    At the risk of sounding like Sir Alex Ferguson, how on earth Martin Atkinson could have got a decision so wrong is beyond me. A player has jumped with his foot raised five or six feet off of the ground, thrown his foot into an opponent and gets off scott free, and the man on the ground who is clearly in pain receives a yellow card for what, holding up the game by being on the floor? But of course, the pantomime comedy antics from Drogba just had to come out. Whilst on the floor, the Ivorian threw his legs about as if in some kind of involuntary spasm and Atkinson sheepishly signalled for the Chelsea physios. What I do not understand is why Atkinson booked Drogba if he called for the physios as therefore it cannot have been for diving. Drogba for once put up little fight against the decision so did could not have been cautioned for dissent, but let’s face it, we all raised a smirk at the sight of Drogba’s forlorn demeanour as he trudged to the sidelines with the physios. Drogba threw his arms in the air at the sight of yellow like an incredulous, grumpy infant who had been ordered to go to bed early.

    After the match Ferguson routinely verbally lambasted the officials, calling the free kick which lead to Chelsea’s goal “a bad decision.” The Scot ranted “you lose your faith in refereeing, that’s the way players see it.” I begrudgingly admit he had a point. Darren Fletcher won a 50-50 tackle against Ashley Cole with neither player diving in and Cole obliged to hurl his body to the floor, legs flailing higher than any other part of his body like a gymnast hoping for extra points. As John Terry feebly nodded Frank Lampard header past the penalty spot, Drogba was up to his usual gamesmanship tricks and scampered across, bundled Wes Brown over and threw a hopefully boot in the direction of the ball as he strayed offside. Van Der Sar in the United goal saw the ball late and really had no chance. Chelsea were 1-0 up and Drogba was smarting. Justice was done as Drogba should have been awarded at the very least a penalty 20 minutes earlier.

    It is such a shame when big games are marred by refereeing decisions as opposed to moments of individual brilliance, and United appear to be gravely missing these moments from Cristiano Ronaldo. United looked toothless going forward and Wayne Rooney single handedly created three or four chances for himself. The likes of Nani and Gabriel Obetan hardly draw fear bubbling in the stomachs of opponents. Despite United’s lack of real magic going forward, they created far more than their opponents and should have won. When his team is on the up and scoring 96th minute goal, Ferguson seems more than willing to laugh and joke with officials, but when the going gets tough and his team doesn’t take their chances, it is a far more bitter pill to swallow. Atkinson evened up his decisions and quite frankly Manchester United are not ones to moan about decisions not going their way when Rooney should have scored two or three with no help from the referee anyway.

    I had been hearing all kinds of things before this match along the lines of how United are not as good this season and how Chelsea are better than ever and how Chelsea were going to ruthlessly expose our shortcomings and send us home on the end of a comprehensive and embarrassing drubbing.

    It is true to say that we have not been convincing this season and Chelsea have been generally flying, Chelsea are still pretty much the same team as they were last season and so are we (Ronaldo being the big change, obviously) but as far as I am concerned, the difference between these two teams has been paper-thin for several years now and, as proved today, one little thing going one way or the other can be the difference between them.

    As this game turned out, I still think that whilst Chelsea came away with the points, we came away with a lot of positives (although I am sure Fergie would swap those for the points).

    Tactically, Fergie got this spot on. I didn’t realise Berby was injured going into this match and it probably wouldn’t have mattered if he wasn’t… Fergie was always going to go with the 4-5-1 I suppose and it worked a treat.

    Defensively and in midfield we coped with just about everything Chelsea had to offer and in some cases (Deco, Lampard and Ashley Cole in particular) we reduced some of their players to little more than spectators.

    The one thing that let us down (again) was our lack of that little bit of something (I still can’t put my finger on it) in the final third.

    We got ourselves into good positions on several occasions but sometimes it was a poor decision to pass in stead of shoot, sometimes a poor decision to shoot in stead of pass, sometimes it was just a poor shot, sometimes it was just a poor pass, sometimes the players didn’t seem to make a decision exactly what to do and it ended up as nothing.

    So, that is the big reason why we didn’t win the game.

    However, we didn’t deserve to lose it and that is the cruel thing about it all.

    There are a number of things that went against us that meant we were always facing an uphill battle and these things were refereeing decisions.

    The first came as early as the eight minute as Rooney was played through and he was clear through on goal, he would have charged forward with just Cech to beat but the assistant ref flagged him offside. Even at first glance, it did look a bit touch and go as Rooney was obviously going forward whilst the Chelsea defence was coming out. Replays proved that it wasn’t even marginal, Rooney was a good yard onside when the ball was played. Ashley Cole (who was on the side nearest to the linesman) was clearly playing him onside.

    We can only speculate about what might have happened if the flag had stayed down on this occasion.

    A little later in the half, Valencia broke into the box, John Terry, hardly the fastest defender in the world was completely caught on the backfoot and Valencia was away, Terry did all he could to get back at Valencia and slow him down and this “defending” included (but was not limited to) grabbing a firm hold of Valencia’s shirt and dragging him to the ground in the penalty area.

    It was a clear penalty, there was no way Valencia could have stayed on his feet with a man the size of Terry pulling him downwards. The referee saw nothing wrong. No penalty.

    A little later in the half, there was an incident where Ashley Cole and John Terry went for the same ball and both ended up on the deck. The ball fell to a Chelsea player and Chelsea went onto the attack. They got as far as the United defence but we won the ball back and a counter was on. The ball was played forward to a United player on halfway line and then the referee blew the whistle to allow the still prostrate John Terry to be treated. This was a full ten seconds after he had hit the deck.

    The ref was happy to leave Captain Terry prone on the ground when Chelsea had the ball (as it was not a head injury, he was right not to blow the whistle) but as soon as we got the ball and started to launch the counter, he blew the whistle.

    This incident more than any other made me wonder if the referee was being completely fair to both sides here.

    Chelsea’s main tactic here today seemed to be to get the ball to the danger area, draw the challenge and go to ground, drawing the free-kick.

    The referee seemed happy to oblige at every opportunity and it seemed just a matter of time before one of these free-kicks would prove significant.

    As a United fan, I realise I am on dodgy ground criticising Chelsea’s tactic here because for the last few seasons, Ronaldo almost patented the idea but it is still up to the referee to decide if the challenge warrants the free kick.

    The big one came around 75 minutes when Fletcher won the ball from Ashley Cole. It did look a bit clumsy but it was actually a great tackle. Fletcher won the ball cleanly and turned to shield the ball all in one move. Ashley Cole threw himself three feet into the air and that was good enough for the ref. Free kick number 48 (sorry, but I had lost count by this time) in a very dangerous area was on its way in.

    Lampard whipped in a great free kick which John Terry headed goalwards and there it was. 1-0 to Chelsea.

    There did seem to be something odd about how easily the ball seemed to go through despite the quality of the delivery and the answer was soon revealed as Wes Brown had been standing right where the ball came through… by the time the ball came through, he was lying on the floor. Why? Well, it looked like Drogba had hauled him to the ground.

    Why wasn’t this seen by the referee? Well, one reason is that he was stood in the most ridiculous position possible.

    I thought when he blew for the kick to be taken that he seemed to be in a bit of a rush and that he should have come across the area to the opposite side of the box from where the kick was being taken. When the kick was taken, the referee decided that the best possible place for him to stand was a couple of yards directly behind Joe Cole.

    Replays from behind the goal showed that the referee could not possibly have seen a single thing that went on in that penalty area because Joe Cole was completely obscuring his view.

    United at this point would have had every right to feel that today just wasn’t going to be their day but they kept going right until the last second but it is one thing to score last minute equalisers against the likes of CSKA Moscow and Sunderland at Old Trafford, it is another thing entirely to pull one out of the hat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with a ref who was going to give absolutely nothing our way if there was even half an argument against it.

    And so it ended 1-0.

    As I said before, the difference between these two teams is wafer-thin. Both teams are so good, work so hard and are so full of quality that for either team to come away the loser is always going to be cruel but we have delivered our fair share of cruel blows to Chelsea over recent seasons, today they got one back at us.

    However, they might have won the battle but the war is still a long way from being over. We showed today that we are far better than some of our performances so far this season have suggested and it could well be that we are now starting to move up through the gears a bit.

    If the real Manchester United are now back then even a five point cushion for Chelsea at this point might not be enough.

    Wayne Rooney has been handed a warning about his future conduct by the FA because they weren’t happy that he appeared to mouth the words, “Twelth Man” into a television camera that got into his face as he trudged off the pitch following our defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

    Wayne, as always, worked his little red socks off for 90+ minutes, gave absolutely everything he had during that time and made one “wrong” decision with everything he did with the ball throughout that time.

    He wasn’t the only United player who worked his socks off and gave everything – I counted at least eleven.

    That he and his team-mates left the pitch with absolutely nothing to show for the blood, sweat and tears spilled was a travesty of footballing justice because we left the pitch pointless purely and simply because every major refereeing decision went against us.

    Rooney was incorrectly flagged offside by the ASSISTANT referee in the eighth minute.

    Valencia was denied a clear penalty when the ASSISTANT referee failed to see John Terry dragging him down by the shirt (I have since seen a replay on TV which shows the assistant referee looking directly at the incident and if he did not see Terry clutching Valencia’s shirt then he should never be allowed near a football ground ever again, he was in line and looking directly at it!).

    The REFEREE blew the whistle to allow Terry to be treated when we were on a counter despite allowing Chelsea to play on immediately after the incident.

    The REFEREE gave Chelsea a free kick when Fletcher won the ball cleanly from Cole and both the REFEREE and ASSISTANT referee missed Drogba hauling Brown to the ground and then interfering with play when clearly offside as the ball flew into our net.

    So, sorry Wayne, you were wrong to say “Twelth Man”… you should have said “Thirteenth Man”.

    ***George Burley has offered quite a few paeans to Darren Fletcher in his time, but the Scotland manager adopted a rare position in his praise yesterday — claiming that, right now, the Manchester United midfield player would be selected by Fabio Capello for the England squad.

    Given their recent, bleak years, it has been a rare thing for a Scotland manager to make such a bold statement, but Burley was unabashed in his singing of Fletcher’s glories in Glasgow.

    In a bold — some would say perhaps even more dubious — claim, the Scotland manager also argued that “English [football] pundits” would all say that Fletcher was good enough to play for England.

    “Darren is a great player in his own right and has matured with age,” Burley said. “He leads by example and has shown that in the last few years for Scotland. He loves playing for Scotland. And ask his team-mates, or other managers in football, and they’ll tell you that you can’t get a better team player.

    “I thought he was absolutely magnificent against Holland. It was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen from him. I’ve not seen all his Scotland matches, but he was terrific that night.

    “I think if you speak to any English pundit, they will say Darren is one of the best midfield players in Britain. There’s no doubt about that. If you asked anyone, he’d make the England squad.”

    Burley, who will make Fletcher his captain against Wales in Cardiff this weekend, argued that it was the 25-year-old Scot’s resilience in sticking to his career at Old Trafford that had made him such a complete footballer.

    “It’s great for a kid who could have left Manchester United three or four years ago,” the Scotland manager said. “Darren wasn’t playing regularly, but he stuck to this task and his beliefs. Sir Alex [Ferguson] always believed in him, but his problem was looking at the squad and trying to work out how he’d get a regular game.

    “Darren has managed that now and it shows great courage to say, ‘I’ll stick at it here and prove my worth.’ Now everyone speaks of him more than any other midfielder at Manchester United.

    “That’s been down to real progress over the last few years and it’s a lot to do with his strength of character. He has great desire and a competitive spirit — the confidence has grown because of the type of lad he is.

    “To have a lad like that available and for him to be captain of this country is great. He is the all-round package for a midfielder.”

    Burley went so far as to say that he is virtually agog these days every time he sees Fletcher pull on a Manchester United top.

    “He is magnificent,” he said. “He’ll never give in, he always works hard and he’s got better and better. I’ve seen improvement in his game in the last year or so.

    “Look at Manchester United on Sunday [during their 1-0 defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge]. He’s spraying the ball about, playing one-twos, winning tackles, headers at one end and shooting at the other.

    “I think Darren’s spirit has rubbed off on others. Other players see his desire and it makes you stronger. As a manager, it certainly makes you feel good to see him on your side.”***

    The phrase has been in use in English since at least 2001, where Gary Armstrong and Richard Giulianotti used the phrase to describe the tactics of Argentine team Estudiantes de La Plata in the 1968 Copa Intercontinental game against Manchester United in their book Fear and Loathing in World Football, citing usage of the phrase in a 1968 editorial in the Argentine newspaper El Gráfico.[1]

    The phrase was used by Johan Cruyff in 2002 to criticise the tactics that helped Brazil to win the World Cup, stating: “Brazil deserved their win but they aren’t a team; they play anti-football and only took advantage of the mistakes of their opponents.”[2]

    In 2004, Frank Rijkaard dubbed the tactics of then-Celtic manager Martin O’Neill “anti-football”. He said: “I feel sorry for the spectators but Celtic played anti-football. They had two lines of five players. The statistics tell the story; we had about 70% of the possession.”[3]

    In November 2006, Arsenal’s Cesc Fàbregas used the term to describe the style of play in the English Premier League, stating: “Teams just defend, defend, and defend; they try to waste time. I call it ‘anti-football,’ but we have to accept this happens and break teams down.”[4]

    In 2007, the phrase was used in The Daily Telegraph to describe the Chelsea style of play under former manager José Mourinho[5] and on Guardian Unlimited’s sports blog on Real Madrid’s style of play under manager Fabio Capello.[6] Barcelona striker Lionel Messi referred to Rangers style of play as “anti-football” after Rangers held Barcelona to a 0 – 0 draw at Ibrox on 23 October 2007.[7] Rangers were also accused of playing anti-football by Alain Perrin after their 3 – 0 win over Perrin’s Olympique Lyonnais a few weeks before the Barcelona match.[8]

    In the English Premier League, many of the weaker teams fighting for relegation are often accused of “parking the bus” in front of the goal, especially when playing away at big teams such as the top four.

    The transition from defence to build-up must be executed very quickly. The team tactical manpower in the centre of the field(central defenders, midfielders and striker) is of great importance.

When possession is lost, it starts in the opposite direction. Good ball circulation puts high demands on the quality of the positional play, the mastering of the tempo and the speed of action.

    Deux boîtes totalement différentes et indépendantes l’une de l’autre.
    A propos de Bruno Laurant, il a travaillé pour Lékip pendant un an comme chroniqueur, il était pas vraiment impliqué quotidiennement dans la rédac.
    C’est un dingue de Liverpool, je me suis souvent embrouillé avec lui à cause de ça !
    Il continue d’écrire pour nous bénévolement quand il en a envie. Mais, bizarrement, quand Liverpool va mal on ne l’entend plus…
